Aaron’s Mechanical Services Looks At Early March Weather In Phoenix

As you know Monday is when we look at the upcoming week and try to decide what is happening with our Phoenix Arizona weather and how it will affect your heating or cooling needs.

This coming week looks to be a fairly typical spring time in the Valley of the Sun.  Our temperatures will be from the mid-seventies to the mid-eighties. We have had such a mild winter while the eastern half of the country has been suffering from one of the worst winters in decades.

You still may need a touch of heat during the overnight and early morning hours. But unlike Chicago (16 degrees Fahrenheit this morning) you, your plants or your pets aren’t in any danger of freezing during the night time hours.

With the latest polar vortex air movements we have freeze warnings as far south as lower Georgia and Alabama. Now I know why our winter visitors are staying in Arizona even longer than normal this year.

Did You Know?

The winter of 1932 in the US was so cold that Niagara Falls froze completely solid!

It is official; Mesa Arizona had a tornado touch down, briefly, around noon on Saturday March 1st 2014.  It was a category F 0.

A tornado can last from a few seconds to more than an hour. On average, they persist for about 10 minutes.

Texas gets about 110 tornadoes each year, the most of any U.S. state

A tornado that struck Washington, D.C. on August 25, 1814, is credited with driving the British invaders out of the city and preventing them from carrying out further destruction. They had burned the White House and much of the city the day before.

With our heavy rain in the Phoenix Metro area this past weekend we thought you might like to know more about a phrase that may have come to mind on Saturday. The phrase “raining cats and dogs” originated in seventeenth-century England. During heavy rainstorms, many animals would end up floating down the streets, giving the appearance that it had actually rained cats and dogs.

When you are ready to have your Air Conditioner or HVAC system tuned-up this spring we hope you will consider using Aaron’s Mechanical Services for your home’s needs.
