AC Repair for the Phoenix Metro Area

If you have gone online and you have done a Google Search for “AC Repair” you get the following message… About 371,000,000 results (0.55 seconds) Now just what are you supposed to do with that many responses?

The top three are paid ads and on the right side are twelve more paid ads.  Is either of those the best way to find a company to do your AC Repair?

What that leaves are the Google Results that are called “Organic” listings, that is from the fourth listing on down.  If you look very, very close you will see a thin line that separates the ads on top from the listing of companies that have found their way into the search results.

And not just online are the AC Repair results confusing.  While the use of the Yellow Pages have declined over the years a few people still use them.  Hundreds of companies are listed in the pages as well.  It is truly a matter of who do you trust and how soon will they get there?  The last thing you want is to be waiting in 100 degrees plus weather only to find that you time for AC Repair has come and gone and the promised tech is no-where to be seen.

You can ask your neighbors, friends, family, co-workers and even complete strangers for their advice and recommendations for AC Repair.  You can use one of the many review and advice sites that feature an AC Repair category and see what is written there.  You know this would be great if you could truly trust what is written there.  People who have a gripe are more likely to leave a complaint that a satisfied person is likely to leave praise.  It is harsh to say but many reviews aren’t real either. Just people who are pumping in false claims.

So is online the best way to get a good result for AC Repair.  Well perhaps we have to admit it is the only way.  But remember to do your homework and ask lots of questions.

Are they listed with the AZ Registrar of Contractors?

How long have they been in business?

It doesn’t work to ask for references … will they give you a bad one?

Do they take time to help on the phone or is it take a number and will call you back?.  (In reality that can happen sometimes even with good companies)

Can we just recommend that you call Aaron’s Mechanical Services at 623-388-4436 to start with and save you some time!

Air Conditioner Repair We Are Here When You Need Us!

We all have heard of Murphy’s Law… If it can go wrong… it will go wrong.  And the corollary, it will go wrong at the worst possible time.

Trust me, your air conditioning unit knows all about Murphy’s Law.  It will live up (or is it down) to those rules every time it has a chance.  The hotter the daytime high the more likely your air conditioner is to fail.  Of course the laws of physics are involved here to.  The hotter the daytime high temperature the harder your air conditioner must work and truly, the more likely it is to have problems when it is stressed to the maximum effort for many consecutive hours.

Much like the difference between a family car and a race car you can think of your AC Unit.  Your engine will last a hundred thousand miles.  A race car engine is worked so hard and stressed so much it will die in less than a thousand miles.

When the daytime high temperature is in the one-hundred-ten plus range your air conditioner will run for hours on end at maximum output.  The fact they last so well is a testament to the quality of their manufacturing process.  But, as you know, sooner or later they are going to fail. And if we add in Murphy’s Law at the worst possible moment.

This week the National Weather Service forecasts that we will see a high in the range of one-hundred-seven degrees Fahrenheit.  That is close enough to 110 degrees, that it will bring down many already weakened air conditioning units.  Is yours one of them that is already on the edge of failure mode?

Most families are gone many hours of the day.  Do you have pets at home that will be sickened by heat stress as your home’s indoor temperature rises for many hours after your AC unit stops working?

Do you children know what to do or who to call if your air conditioner stops working?

Does the person, who is babysitting your home and pets while you are on vacation, know who to call and what to do when your air conditioner fails?

Aaron’s Mechanical Services is here when you need us.  24 / 7 emergency service.

Cool Places: Jerome Arizona

The National Weather Service has been saying this weekend is going to be a hot one and we sure agree.  The Phoenix Metro area will be above one-hundred-five degrees for this coming Saturday and Sunday.  I know… it could be worse.

Just about 90 minutes north of the Valley of the Sun is the Ghost town of Jerome.  Not that Jerome is much of a ghost town anymore. It has been called the Largest Ghost Town in America.

Jerome is located in the Black Hills of Yavapai County a short drive north of Phoenix. Founded in the late 19th century on Cleopatra Hill overlooking the Verde Valley, it is more than 5,000 feet above sea level.

Jerome was once the fourth largest city in the Arizona Territory. The population peaked at 15,000 in the 1920′s. The Depression of the 1930′s slowed the mining operation and the claim went to Phelps Dodge, who holds the claim today. World War II brought increased demand for copper, but after the war, demand slowed. Dependent on the copper market, Phelps Dodge Mine closed in 1953. The remaining 50 to 100 hardy souls promoted the town as a historic ghost town. In 1967 Jerome was designated a National Historic District by the federal government. Today Jerome is a thriving tourist and artist community with a population of about 450.

On an average day Jerome is twenty degrees cooler than the Phoenix metro area.

While many folks go to Jerome for it artistic wares and wines there is much to see related to its historic mining history.

Jerome is also known for several picturesque dining establishments.  The Haunted Hamburger and the Asylum restaurant (located in the Grand Hotel) to name just two.

Whether it is a long weekend get-away at a local bed and breakfast or the Grand Hotel, or just a day trip to check out the shops and galleries, go and get a bite to eat at one of their many fine restaurants, while you enjoy the view. Jerome truly offers something for everyone! Remember to wear your walking shoes.

Two Hot Days Will Lead To AC Repair

If you have seen any of the weather stories over the three day weekend you know that today, May 27th 2014 is going to be downright hot at one-hundred and seven degrees Fahrenheit and Wednesday will be even hotter.  The National Weather Service is predicting one-hundred and eight (maybe even hotter in some areas with area of the Phoenix Metroplex pushing 110 degrees) for the day.

So why are we talking about AC Repair for these two days?  With temperatures that high it means that some air conditioners will be running up twenty hours out of twenty-four to keep your home cool.  For sure this will be the first two days where your ac will be stressed this cooling season.  Any unit that is on the edge is going to give up the ghost.

So who are you going to call? We hope that if you need to think AC Repair you will think of Aaron’s Mechanical Services to rescue you from the blistering heat.  We are as close as your phone.  All you have to do is push the following numbers into your phone 623-388-4436.

We hope you are among the lucky ones who’s Air Conditioner doesn’t need any attention at all, really! But, if you need help, please know we are there for you and your family.  We have been serving families from the Valley of the Sun for more than thirty years.

Is your air conditioner so old that its birthday should be announced by Willard Scott on the NBC Today show? Okay. Just kidding.  But the age of your unit will be a factor in the need for AC Repair. Consider how often you need repairs these days.  All air conditioners reach a point where replacement is the only real option.

Did You Know?

While June has the highest peak temperatures of the summer the average overall high is higher in both July and August.

The Phoenix Metroplex is the hottest large city in the United States. Based on both area and population we are one of the hottest in the world.  All I can say is give thanks for air conditioning.

Would you pick anywhere else to live?

The USA has more tornadoes than any other country in the world, averaging around 1200 a year. This is due largely to its unique geography which forms an area in central USA called “Tornado Alley” which is frequently hit by tornadoes.

Aaron’s Mechanical Services Remembers Memorial Day

We must start with a very deep heartfelt “Thank You”!  That just doesn’t seem to be enough. But, to all of the men and women who have fallen while protecting the rest of us, Know That What You Have Sacrificed Will Never Be Forgotten!

Memorial Day is not to be confused with Veterans Day; Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving, while Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans.

Memorial Day is a US federal holiday wherein the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces are remembered. The holiday, which is celebrated every year on the final Monday of May, was formerly known as Decoration Day and originated after the Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War.

The practice of decorating soldiers' graves with flowers is an ancient custom. Soldiers' graves were decorated in the U.S. before and during the Civil War. A claim was made in 1906 that the first Civil War soldier's grave ever decorated was in Warrenton, Virginia, on June 3, 1861, implying the first Memorial Day occurred there. Though not for Union soldiers, there is authentic documentation that women in Savannah, Georgia, decorated Confederate soldiers' graves in 1862.

By the 20th century, Memorial Day had been extended to honor all Americans who have died while in the military service. It typically marks the start of the summer vacation season, while Labor Day marks its end. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, particularly to honor those who have died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.

Annual Decoration Days for particular cemeteries are held on a Sunday in late spring or early summer in some rural areas of the South, notably in the mountains. In cases involving a family graveyard where remote ancestors as well as those who were deceased more recently are buried, this may take on the character of an extended family reunion to which some people travel hundreds of miles.

People gather on the designated day and put flowers on graves and renew contacts with kinfolk and others. There often is a religious service and a "dinner on the ground," the traditional term for a potluck meal in which people used to spread the dishes out on sheets or tablecloths on the grass. It is believed that this practice began before the Civil War and thus may reflect the real origin of the "memorial day" idea.

In 1863, the cemetery dedication at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was a ceremony of commemoration at the graves of dead soldiers. Local historians in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, claim that ladies there decorated soldiers' graves on July 4, 1864. As a result, Boalsburg promotes itself as the birthplace of Memorial Day.

Does A New Air Conditioner Mean No Repairs?

I think that many people who buy a brand new air conditioner think that they are free from an AC Repair for many years.  While we all hope that will be the case, there in no way to guarantee that will be the case.

Yes, a new AC unit should always come with a factory warranty.  Depending on the brand and the install contractor what is covered and how long it is covered will vary.  Make sure you understand your rights as the buyer and what is written down is the only thing that matters if and WHEN you need that first and subsequent service call(s).

Simply saying your unit has a ten year or even lifetime warranty does not tell you what is actual covered.  To keep you warranty in force are your required to have a particular company service your AC unit?

How often does your warranty require you to have your unit serviced? Is it once a year? Is it twice a year? What happens if you don’t meet the service requirements?

Can you get the annual or bi-annual service requirements rolled into the purchase price?  What happens to your warranty if the dealer you purchase from goes out of business? In that case you may be required to prove that you are still covered and the required services have been meet.

Your new air conditioner should have need of far fewer repairs than a ten plus year old one that it replaces. But parts still can fail and service items may need replaced.  Depending on the dealer how smoothly those future situations will go.

Here at Aaron’s Mechanical Services we put our customers first. Yes, right out there front and center for all of our future customers to see.  What I mean is your needs actual come first for us.  We think that a truly educated customer is our best case scenario.

We use air conditioning brands that have proven over many years of service, in our harsh desert summers, that are as trouble free as possible.  Let us put our many years of experience to work for you and your family.

Fast and Fair air conditioning repair and may we add, sometimes that will need to say “Fast and Fair Air Conditioning Replacement.”

Give us a call at 623-388-4436 so we can chat about your air conditioning needs.

Cool Arizona Places: Visit Route 66 Near Kingman

If you have seen the forecast for this weekend you know that our Valley of the Sun is heating back up into the low one hundreds.  Just why is it that it can be cool during the week and then get hot just in time for us to try and have some fun?

So let’s hope you don’t need AC Repair this weekend.  But if you do think to call Aaron’s Mechanical Services at 623-388-4436 and we will be there to rescue you and your family.

You can escape to the northern part of our wonderful state and visit the Kingman and Seligman area where you should see temperatures in the sixties and seventies for afternoon highs.  Yes, it seems there may be a chance of showers as well. A spectacular, if somewhat white-knuckle, drive from Oatman through the Black Mountains on a narrow section of Route 66 brings you to Kingman, where the excellent Historic Route 66 Museum shares space with the town’s visitor’s center in the historic Powerhouse building. Along with showcasing such classic Route 66 artifacts as a muscle car and Texaco station, the museum traces the metamorphosis of the early trade and wagon routes into the world’s most famous highway.

The Route 66 Museum is truly unique in that it is a museum of history, located in the “heart” of the longest remaining stretch of the 2,400 miles that was Route 66. The Route 66 Museum depicts the historical evolution of travel along the 35th parallel that became Route 66. Their brilliant murals, photos and life size dioramas capture each of the groups that have traveled the route that has come to be known as the Mother Road.

The nearby Mohave Museum of History and Arts focuses on the area’s rich history and heritage of the people who helped found Mohave County.

Take a one hundred mile scenic joy ride on the longest continuous stretch of old Route 66 from Kingman to Seligman, the nostalgia-inducing town that led the drive to preserve the historic road.

You’ll pass the old railroad town of Hackberry and the Frontier Motel & Cafe in Peach Springs. If you have time, descend into Grand Canyon Caverns, an ancient cave system that hosts the world’s deepest motel room (220 feet below sea level).

Arizona (Powerhouse) Route 66 Museum

Cooling AZ HVAC TuneUp Special

Do you know that doing a Tune Up on your air conditioner is still a good idea.  Are you the kind of person that finds themselves managing crisis after crisis in your life?

Do you wait till your car breaks down or do you have a great dealer that keeps your car running like a top?

Do you put off going to the dentist until you have a serious toothache? Not a good idea but, you aren’t alone!

Do you think a blow-out is the right wake-up call for getting your car’s tires serviced?

Do you think that green mold is nature’s way of telling you to throw something out of your refrigerator?

Do you cut your grass a little bit each week or do you wait till the yard looks like the Jungleland ride at the theme park?

Do you have your HVAC unit serviced twice a year? That would be once for the heating season and once for the cooling season.

Procrastination… are we all guilty?

It has something to do with how our daily work, duties and responsibilities tend to overwhelm us.

In the midst of all the important things we know we need to do, we somehow convince ourselves that none of these things need to be done right now.  In other words, we decide that some peace and relaxation in the short term is what’s most important.

I know I sure don’t want to have my AC unit fail on one of our hot summer days.  Even as a professional I don’t want to be on my own roof working in the heat when a simple Tune Up would have kept me cool and comfortable.

We do have special pricing on a HVAC (or regular air conditioning) Tune Up right now.  So please give us a call now (yes, now) so we can help keep you cool and comfortable this summer season. That is Aaron’s Mechanical Services at 623-388-4436. Call us for our current deal!

That is today – not tomorrow… right!

Fast and Fair AC Repair

When it comes to AC Repair that is what we all want, Right? We want, no, we expect AC Repair that is first of all “Fast” and perhaps most important, we want AC Repair that is “Fair”

You want a “Fair” estimate.
You want a “Fair” price.
You want a correct “Repair” the first time.
Yes, you want and expect “AC Repair” that is “Fast”.

We agree and you deserve all of the above…

You want the ac repair technician to get to your home “Fast”.  You don’t want to be told “sometime later today”.  You sure don’t want to hear the “tomorrow” word.

When the technician gets to your home you want his service to be completed quickly (read fast here too).

You don’t want to hear that the technician needs to go to the shop to get the “right” part.  Though to be fair that could happen.  It really is impossible to carry every part for every make, model and year of manufacture on the service truck.

At Aaron’s Mechanical Services we offer and most important do everything we can to live up to our motto of Fast and Fair AC Repair. We feel it is the minimum our customers and friends deserve.

Did your Air Conditioner or HVAC unit work as you expected over the hot weekend we just went through?

For more information please visit our AC Repair Info website page at our hyperlink of; http://coolingaz.com/ac-repair.html

Did You Know?

Moon bows are rare, only seen at night when the moon is low and almost full, yes, similar to a regular rainbow.

Cool Off with AC Repair or a Trip Up North

This weekend is going to be the hottest, so far, in two-thousand-fourteen (2014).  With a temperature in the one-hundred and four degree Fahrenheit range on Friday May 16th.  Much of the weekend here in the Valley of the Sun desert area is going to be like that.  So if you need AC Repair you should give  Aaron’s Mechanical Services a call at 623-388-4436 to get your home cool and comfortable.

You can cool off by heading to the northern part of Arizona over weekend. But if you are still coming back to a house that is too hot you can get our AC Repair service 24/7.

We are very lucky here in the Phoenix Metro area we are really just an hour or a bit more from fishing in our northern lakes or even a mountain stream. Of course you can cool off in many lakes though out the state and even a few that are just minutes away from our great cityplex.

If you are looking for a great place to take the children (or grandchildren) this weekend you might want to consider a visit to the Grand Canyon Deer Farm in Williams Arizona.

For over 40 years, the Deer Farm has been enjoyed by animal lovers of all ages. Getting “hands on” and close to such beautiful creatures is a very rare opportunity. Only by raising them from babies allows for such intimate human contact. Do You Know Who Invented Air Conditioning or Even Iced Drinks?

Without the invention of Air Conditioning living in the desert that surrounds the Phoenix Metro area would be a whole different ball game.  If your HVAC is working right and your house is well built you will be cool and comfortable even on the hottest summer day in Arizona.

So who do we get to thank for this wonderful invention we call air conditioning?

On July 17, 1902, Willis Haviland Carrier designed the first modern air-conditioning system, launching an industry that would fundamentally improve the way we live, work and play.

Born November 26, 1876, in Angola, New York
Earned engineering degree from Cornell University in 1901
Started working at Buffalo Forge Company in 1901

Designed the world’s first modern air conditioning system in 1902!

Did You Know?

A cuneiform tablet from more than 1,700 years before Christ records the construction of an icehouse in the northern Mesopotamian town of Terqa by Zimri-Lim, the King of Mari, "which never before had any king built."

In China, archaeologists have found remains of ice pits from the seventh century BC, and references suggest they were in use before 1100 BC.

Alexander the Great around 300 BC stored snow in pits dug for that purpose. In Rome in the third century AD, snow was imported from the mountains, stored in straw-covered pits, and sold from snow shops. The ice formed in the bottom of the pits sold at a higher price than the snow on top.

Ice house was introduced to Britain around 1660. Various types and designs of ice house exist. However, British ice houses were commonly brick lined, domed structures, with most of their volume underground. Ice houses varied in design depending on the date and builder, but were mainly conical or rounded at the bottom to hold melted ice. They usually had a drain to take away any water. It is recorded that the idea for ice houses was brought to Britain by travellers who had seen similar arrangements in Italy, where peasants collected ice from the mountains and used it to keep food fresh inside caves. Ice Houses may also be known as Ice Wells, Ice Pits or Ice Mounds.

So if you have a cool iced drink this summer you are standing in a line that goes back over 3,700 years.

Cool Arizona Places: Lava River Cave

With the daytime highs this weekend approaching 105 degrees, going to a cool place in northern Arizona may be just the ticket.

Have you ever been to Lava River Cave?  Have you even heard about it?  It is truly one of the “Coolest” places in Arizona.

When we say “Cool” this place lives up to that word.  You should dress appropriately when you go to visit, with warm clothes and sturdy shoes. Lava River Cave is as cool as 42° Fahrenheit even in summer, and you may even find some ice inside. The rocks are always sharp and slippery, too.

This mile-long lava tube cave was formed roughly 700,000 years ago by molten rock that erupted from a volcanic vent in nearby Hart Prairie. The top, sides and bottom of the flow cooled and solidified first, after which the insides of the lava river continued to flow emptying out the present cave.

Ample evidence of how the tube was born is written in the rocks of which it is formed. Small wave-like undulations in the floor are the remains of ripples frozen in the last trickle of molten rock that flowed from the cave. Stone icicles hanging from the ceiling show where a final blast of volcanic heat caused the rock to partially re-liquefy and drip.

Bring two or three sources of light, in case one happens to fail, it can be very dark one mile from the nearest light source.

Portions of the cave which were defaced by graffiti, have been recently cleaned up. Today's more environmentally aware visitors take better care of such a unique resource and report vandals and graffiti when they see them.

Location: About 14 miles north of Flagstaff on paved highways and graveled Forest Roads. Travel time is about 45 minutes.

Aaron’s Mechanical Services Asks What Is Your Status Quo?

I would guess that the first step is to make sure we agree on what “Status Quo” means.

Status quo is a Latin term meaning the existing state of affairs. It is the nominal form of the prepositional Latin phrase "in statu quo" – literally "in the state in which", which itself is a shortening of the original phrase in statu quo res erant ante bellum, meaning "in the state in which things were before the war". To maintain the status quo is to keep the things the way they presently are. The related phrase status quo ante, literally "the state in which before", means "the state of affairs that existed previously"

What does a state of “war” have to do with air conditioning?  On a hot summer day in July as you feel like you are ready to melt is when you might think of war as fight against the Arizona heat. You want to get home and be able to cool off and be comfortable.  I might mention you want to do it without braking the bank paying your electricity bill.

So is your home’s “state of affairs” or “status quo” that it is already really ready for the Arizona summer heat? – OR – could your HVAC or just AC in need of some Tender Loving Care and for whatever reason you are just putting off getting it done.

Are you the type of person who waits until the “failure” happens and then goes into “Crisis” mode to get it repaired and up and running again?  - OR – Do you plan ahead and try to be ready for you know what is coming?

You know that from mid-June until late August (maybe into September) we will see the daytime high well over one-hundred-ten degrees. In fact you probably will see a summer-time high temperature that will be near 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

So we want to ask again “What Is Your Summer Status Quo?” Ready or Not?

If you are in the “Not Ready” Category a quick call to Aaron’s Mechanical Services at 623-388-4436 can change that!

Do you need to change your air conditioning Status Quo?

Fix it – pick up your phone and dial 623-388-4436.

How hot will it be when your AC unit or HVAC fails?  How long will you have to wait to get a repair and relief?

Looking for a fast and fair company to work with for your indoor living comfort and installing or repairing HVAC systems give Aaron’s Mechanical Services a call and let us help you! Call 623-388-4436

Aaron’s Mechanical Services Correctly Predicted First 100 Degree Day For 2014

Not only was Saturday May 2nd the first one-hundred degree day of 2014 it broke the record with a high of 102 degrees Fahrenheit.

Was Saturday the first day this year that you ran your air conditioner?  I didn’t think so.  May I ask, “if” on the first day, this year, you ran your HVAC or whatever cooling system, did you cross your fingers and “hope” it ran?

No shame in that, but it is a sign that it is time you call for an Aaron’s Mechanical Services’ Tune-up Special

If you had done that before you needed your AC to run you would have been able to trust that it would have ran and ran properly.  How surprised will you be when you get your first electrical bill in this cooling season?  Will it be higher than last year?  How high will it go in July and August?

Do you know that a properly maintained air conditioner cost less to operate than one that needs servicing.  We are talking about professional service that is well beyond changing out your inside paper air filter.

Do you know that your evaporator coils need cleaning as well.  This isn’t something that you should be doing.  They have fins that are easily damaged (bent).   So now is a great time to pick up your phone and call Aaron’s Mechanical Services (at 623-388-4436) to schedule your air conditioner check-up and service.

This being May the 5th “Cinco de Mayo” we want to take a moment, recognize and celebrate the Mexican Victory over the French army at the battle of the Puebla.( El Día de la Batalla de Puebla ) in the year 1862.

The victory represented a significant morale boost to the Mexican army and the Mexican people at large. In the description of The History Channel, "Although not a major strategic win in the overall war against the French, Zaragoza's success at Puebla represented a great symbolic victory for the Mexican people and bolstered the resistance movement." As Time magazine recently noted, "The Puebla victory came to symbolize unity and pride for what seemed like a Mexican David defeating a French Goliath." It helped establish a much-needed sense of national unity and patriotism.

To steal a line from the Famous TV commercial “Stay Cool My Friends” if you can’t call Aaron’s Mechanical Services at 623-388-4436.
