Arizona Thanksgiving Places: Holidays At Home or Eating Out

We, here at Aaron’s Mechanical Service, would like to wish everyone a "Happy Thanksgiving".

Many of you are either hosting the family and friends get-together or going to one but we also know that for whatever reason many of us eat out for our Thanksgiving Dinner.

Sometimes there's just a lot going on, and having your Thanksgiving dinner out is a viable alternative to cooking. The best thing about going out to eat on Thanksgiving Day is that you don't have to spend hours or days preparing, or hours cleaning up. The worst thing about Thanksgiving dinner out is no leftovers!

Many restaurants serve Thanksgiving brunch or dinner or both! They may be located at local resorts or casinos. They may be independently owned or chains. All price ranges are represented, so you can have from an elegant Thanksgiving dining experience or a casual family meal with all the kids. A quick Google search will lead you to one in your neighborhood.

Also consider the many Phoenix area grocery stores where you can pick up a Thanksgiving turkey with all the trimmings.  Nearly every grocery store has some type of Thanksgiving dinner so you can do it up right with little to no work.

What follows are some of Thanksgiving trivia tidbits, hope they brings back memories and put a little smile on your face.

The first Thanksgiving feast was very different than what we use today. Lobster, rabbit, chicken, fish, squashes, beans, chestnuts, hickory nuts, onions, leeks, dried fruits, maple syrup and honey, radishes, cabbage, carrots, eggs, and goat cheese are thought to have made up the first Thanksgiving feast.

Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird of the United States.

Sarah Josepha Hale, an American magazine editor, persuaded Abraham Lincoln to declare Thanksgiving a national holiday. She is also the author of the popular nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb"

Abraham Lincoln issued a 'Thanksgiving Proclamation' on third October 1863 and officially set aside the last Thursday of November as the national day for Thanksgiving.

The annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade tradition began in the 1920's.

Will You Have A Houseful on Thanksgiving?

Well, the first of the “BIG” holidays is upon us.  We are all getting ready for Thanksgiving in one way or the other.  We are either planning on going to someone’s home or we are getting our home ready for company.

Is your furnace, HVAC or heating system ready for the holiday festivities? While the oven will be going and providing some heat you may need to have your heating system tested and tuned-up so it can do its part as well.

A quick call to Aaron’s Mechanical Service at 623-388-4436 can get us on our way to make sure your home is ready for the holiday and the heating season.  Here in Arizona, especially the Phoenix Metro area it is not part of any real cold winters.  But, with our body tempered for highs well north of one-hundred-fifteen degrees Fahrenheit we need heating help when our daytime highs drop into the fifty or sixty degree range.  Let alone nights that can drop to freezing and slightly below.

According to the National Weather Service we will see temperatures in some parts of the Valley of the Sun with nighttime lows less than ten degrees above freezing.  That is cold enough for me.

Don’t wait to find out if your furnace or heating system is up to the task and then leaves you out in the cold so to speak.

Did You Know?

More than 250 million turkeys will be served on Thanksgiving this year.

2.6 billion pounds is the total weight of sweet potatoes — another popular Thanksgiving side dish — produced by major sweet potato producing states in 2012. North Carolina (1.2 billion pounds) produced more sweet potatoes than any other state, followed by California, Mississippi and Louisiana.

How Fast Can A Turkey Trot? Would You Believe 25 MPH.

There are four places in the United States named after the holiday's traditional main course. Turkey Creek, LA, was the most populous in 2012, with 440 residents, followed by Turkey, TX (415), Turkey, NC (295) and Turkey Creek, AZ (294). There are also two townships in Pennsylvania with "Turkey" in the name: Upper Turkeyfoot and Lower Turkeyfoot. (Please note that the Turkey Creek, Arizona, population total pertains to the 2010 Census).

At Aaron’s Mechanical Service we want you to stay warm dry and comfortable all year round.  If your HVAC unit or heating system needs service or replacement please think of us and call at 623-388-4436 and we will come to you and solve your air conditioning service needs.

Well Winter Weather Has Invaded The Valley of the Sun

Starting Thursday night (November 21st) the rain showers moved into the Phoenix Metro area.  The rain continued through Friday, Saturday and into Sunday morning. Along with the rain the temperatures dropped into the forties during the nighttime hours.

The National Weather Service states that these temps are ten to fifteen degrees below normal for this time of the year.

Many weekend events were either canceled or postponed due to the weather. The Valley of the Sun wasn’t ready for the cold temperatures and all the rain we got over the weekend.

If you have been following the news you know that the northern part of Arizona got lots of the white fluffy stuff.  Mush of the west was affected by this large storm and now it is moving east and the Thanksgiving holiday travel will be derailed by this large storm system.

Was this past weekend the first time you tried your furnace or heating system?  Did everything work as expected?  Did you get any strange smells?

Now is the time to get your heating system tune-up.  Don’t waste money on a furnace that isn’t running at peak efficiency.  Worse yet is a system that isn’t operating safely.

Yes, over the next few days the daytime highs will move back to the very low seventies. Our over- night lows will still be in the forties. I don’t know about you but that is too cold to be without heat.

Did You Know?
On November 23rd 2013 the U.S. broke five record lows and tied three other record lows.
Underwood North Dakota was -13 degrees breaking the old record of -9 set in 1985
Bottineau North Dakota was -14 degrees breaking the old record of -13 set in 1898
On the other end of the scale El Campo Texas tied for their record high on the day at 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The very next day they were in the sixties for the high.

On November 23rd 2013 the U.S. broke thirty-five records for precipitation.
Punkin Center AZ got 1.52 inches of precipitation breaking the old record of 1.40 set in 1984
Kitt Peak AZ got 1.70 inches of precipitation breaking the old record of 0.40 set in 1996
Houston-Westbury Texas got 2.25 inches of precipitation breaking the old record of 1.21 set in 1957

Arizona Places: Cerreta Candy Company

Because Cerreta is a small candy company, they can assure their customers the highest possible quality at everyday affordable prices. It is Cerreta’s goal to be an everyday candy company, not just a company that sells candy on holidays. Their presence in grocery stores accomplishes this goal, but holiday business still makes up a large part of the in-house retail operations at the plant in Glendale. Easter, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Dad’s Day are busy times of the year for the Cerreta family.

The Cerreta Candy Company is an old family owned business. Founded 40 years ago, by Jim Cerreta, Sr. who learned candy making in his father-in-law’s factory in Ohio. Jim passed the trade to his entire family.

Today four of Jim’s sons are actively involved in every aspect of the candy business. Jim, Jr. is in charge of the caramel operation, where he makes caramel, Camelbacks, and caramel popcorn.

Joe Cerreta oversees production of the cream centers, where he combines modern methods with old fashion candy making techniques.

Jerry is the chocolate man. He covers the caramels and cream centers made by his brothers with the robust chocolate covering that makes Cerreta’s chocolate so distinctive.

Sales to the grocery and retail trade, running of the in-house store, mail-order operations and overseeing the web site are handled by Joner.

Even the wives get into the act. Joe’s wife Marisa gives daily tours to the public, and her enthusiasm is contagious!

Marisa & Joe’s sons work in the factory in the summer. These two boys represent Cerreta’s fourth generation of candy makers.

It’s this deep family involvement and their time honored authentic production methods which ensure the highest possible quality and homemade taste of every piece of Cerreta Candy from the caramels to the chocolates.

Get The Correct New Furnace

Are you thinking about buying a new furnace or heating system? Is the first thing that comes to mind, and is generally the most pressing concern, is what your new furnace will cost?.

You can essentially lower the purchase cost and the operating costs of the new system installed in your home by taking the time to carefully consider the potential HVAC contractors properly and then compare the cost of the different types of heating systems.

Sizing
Let's say you decide to purchase a ninety-eight percent efficiency or so furnace. You'll expect it to perform to peak efficiency, and rightly so. Your system will only perform to expectation if it's correctly sized. Your contractor must follow industry-leading practices for sizing the furnace, called the Manual J method, which involves calculating its capacity to put out heat compared to its energy input based on your home's size, window efficiency and other factors. When the system is sized correctly, you may be able to purchase a smaller (correctly sized) furnace that will cost you less to purchase.

Installation
The quality of installation will affect the operating costs associated with your new furnace. Although this won't affect the initial purchase price. It's important to select a reputable contractor properly trained in the actions necessary to correctly install your heating system. Energy Star estimates that homeowners can lower energy costs by as much as thirty percent when the HVAC installer follows its Quality Installation Guidelines. When installers fail to follow standard practice, ignoring factors like airflow rates and sealing ducts, your energy costs go up.

Choosing The Right Contractor
The contractor you choose to work with will make all the difference in the world. That's because our service professional will not only help you select the right system for your home, and therefore needs to have the expertise to know what you need, but the HVAC dealer needs the experience and training to ensure a correct sized system, along with many other factors.

Also, new furnaces are designed to integrate with high-efficiency air conditioners, so furnace blowers are more powerful to accommodate add-on cooling. Since cold air is much heavier than warm air, your system needs an extra boost from the blower to deliver cool air throughout your home. If you have an older home, this performance boost could produce unfamiliar sounds because air duct systems were originally designed for heating only. To minimize sound levels, choose a variable speed product which automatically changes speeds to meet the airflow needs of both heating and cooling cycles.

At Aaron’s Mechanical Service we want you to stay comfortable all year round.  If your HVAC unit or heating system needs service or replacement please think of us and call at 623-388-4436 and we will come to you and solve your air conditioning service needs.

Forecast Shows Fall Is Truly Here

Have you looked at the National Weather Service forecast this morning? It sure looks they are predicting some great Arizona Fall days.  With lows showing in the forties coming soon and daytime highs with nothing higher than the mid-seventies, in fact in the next ten days we will see some of our highs in the sixties.

Yes, even some showers are just a few days away. Well Fall is here.  You have taken time to have your heating system tuned up or at least you have called us and have your tune-up scheduled, Right?

OK, for sure we know that some of you are still putting it off.  Can I ask what you are waiting for?  We are just thirty-seven days for Christmas.  You do want to be sure your home is warm and toasty for that early morning family holiday.

If you are planning a big family day for Thanksgiving (just ten days away) you know you will be up early and you will want to get up to a warm home.  It is no fun cooking and wearing a sweater or jacket with all the preparation you need to do.

When are you planning on getting your Fall 2013 furnace or heating system tune-up? What is it you are waiting for?

You can’t store the cold weather and trade it in next summer so why don’t just plan on making your home comfortable this fall and winter.  To do that you need your heating system to be running efficiently and safely.  A heating system tune-up from Aaron’s Mechanical Service is what you need. The best news is we are just a quick phone call away. Please call 623-388-4436.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner we thought we would have some cooking tips to consider this year.

Thawing a frozen turkey requires patience. The safest method is to thaw turkey in the refrigerator at 41 degrees F. Be sure to plan ahead — it takes approximately 4 to 5 days for a 20 pound turkey to fully defrost.

Plan on 20 minutes per pound in a 350 degrees Fahrenheit oven for a fully defrosted turkey.

A turkey will cook more evenly if it is not densely stuffed. Consider adding flavor by loosely filling the cavity with aromatic vegetables — carrots, celery, onion, turnips, rutabagas or garlic work nicely — or by carefully tucking fresh herbs underneath the breast skin. For the stuffing lovers in the family, cook the dressing in a casserole dish on the side.

At Aaron’s Mechanical Service we want you to stay comfortable all year round.  If your HVAC unit or furnace needs service or replacement please think of us and call at 623-388-4436 and we will come to you and solve your air conditioning service needs.

The Department of Energy On Heating

A variety of technologies are available for heating your home. In addition to furnaces and boilers, heating options include wood and pellet heaters, active solar heating, and heat pumps, which are used for both heating and cooling. In addition, a combination of proper insulation, air sealing, and energy-efficient windows and doors will help ensure that your home is both comfortable and energy efficient.

When it comes to heating with a fired burner your normal choices are gas and oil.  When it comes to gas you have either natural gas feed by underground pipes or bottled gas (compressed) stored at your location.

You can chose to heat your whole house or just certain rooms using either portable heaters (normally electric powered) or a fuel burning fixed unit that is fired only when the room (or rooms) are occupied.

In every case it is important that no matter the type of unit or fuel that is maintained so it is both efficient and safe to operate.

Aaron’s Mechanical Service would like to add that you want the person who services your HVAC system or furnace to be a trusted and qualified service person.

Did You Know?
There are 370,000 house fires per year
17% are heating related or 62,900 house fires per year
3,500 people die each year in house fires
Approximately 3,000 deaths per year (CDC report) from carbon monoxide exposure (CO) each year (poorly ventilated gases from a burning process or automotive source)

All heaters need space! Keep things that can burn, such as paper, bedding or furniture, at least 3 feet away from heating equipment, fireplaces and stoves.

• Place portable space heaters on a hard, level, nonflammable surface. Do not put space heaters on rugs or carpets, near bedding or drapes, and keep children and pets away.  Look for a model that shuts off automatically if the space heater tips over.  Do not use heating equipment to dry wet clothing.

• Never use the stove or oven to heat your home.  Never leave portable heaters, wood burning stoves or fireplaces unattended.  Turn them off before leaving or going to bed.

• Keep the fire in the fireplace by using a glass or metal screen large enough to catch sparks and rolling logs.

At Aaron’s Mechanical Service we want you to stay comfortable all year round.  If your HVAC unit or heating system needs service or replacement please think of us and call at 623-388-4436 and we will come to you and solve your air conditioning service needs.

Cool Arizona Places: Pioneer Living History Village

The Pioneer Arizona Foundation arose out of a concern for the number of historical buildings in the state that were being destroyed to make way for new construction. This village was created to capture Arizona's history, primarily between the years 1870 to 1890. The Pioneer Arizona Living History Museum officially opened in 1969. The village houses 30 historic buildings from the 1880s to the turn of the century on a 90-acre property.

Pioneer Living History Village used to be called the Pioneer Living History Museum.
Located in North Phoenix, you'll visit over 90 acres of an old 1800's town, with no cars or smog! You will find authentic buildings and historically accurate reproductions. See the Opera House where Lilly Langtry sang; look through a rifle port in the actual cabin that survived Arizona's bloodiest range war; laugh your way through a "melodrama"; or browse through an 1890's dress shop and much more!

All of this, plus a blacksmith shop, sheriff's office and jail, complete ranch complex, and costumed interpreters including cowboys, lawmen, and lovely Victorian ladies - await you at Pioneer Living History Village, Arizona's most authentic Old West town.

At Pioneer Living History Village you will step back in time to the Arizona Territorial period, 1863 to 1912, to see and feel how the early pioneers lived and worked in the harsh, unforgiving environment of this diverse land. When you take the self-guided, walking-tour through the Village, you discover a world devoid of paved streets, electricity, or running water that our ancestors once inhabited.

Their “Classroom without walls” provides an enriching educational encounter by showing you the dwellings, tools, and everyday implements used by Arizona’s early residents to tame a frontier. Educators and students alike will find their Village an invaluable learning experience that will make them want to return again and again.

If You Don’t Like The Weather…

We have all heard the old saying, “If You Don’t Like The Weather…Wait A Few Minutes… It Will Change.” In the Phoenix Metro area that usually means that it will get hotter.

Last week based on the National Weather Service forecast I wrote that we had probably seen the last eighty degree day and the temperature would drop into the seventies. Well the weather did change and true to the Valley of the Sun it got hotter.

This week it is forecast to reach ninety degrees plus today and may run eighty plus all week.  The weekend may bring our fall temperatures back into the seventies.

As last week wrapped up NASCAR race teams and their races came to the valley and with most of the rest of the country running into the forties and fifties they watched television showing Phoenix having the mid-eighties for our highs and it sure does help our winter tourist visitors.

Here in the Phoenix Metro area we often take for granted how nice our winter weather really is.  That doesn’t mean we don’t feel the cold of our overnight desert climate.  We want our homes to remain comfortable as our night time temperatures drop into the low thirties.  To stay warm we rely on our heat pumps, HVAC systems or gas furnaces.  Is your heating system ready to keep you warm and to do that safely?

A quick phone call to Aaron’s Mechanical Service at 623-388-4436 can set your mind at ease. Either just a quick tune-up or if needed some simple repairs can have you and your family ready and safe for the winter weather and our Arizona style cold temperatures.

Today a Canadian cold front went through the Midwest all the way to Maine.  Snow fall and bitter cold temperatures more like January is what greeted folks as they started their day and here in the Phoenix Metro area we are going to be in the low nineties.

Yes, it may seem odd to be thinking “heating” on a day like today.  But it is the best time to get ready.

Simple maintenance steps include checking your furnace filter monthly during heating season and cleaning or changing it as needed, dusting heat registers and keeping furniture away from them, as well as scheduling an annual furnace checkup.

Did You Know
An average six room home collects forty pounds of dust each year.
Air ducts hold more germs than the average chicken coop.
EPA says indoor air is up to 70% more polluted than outdoor air.
Under a half inch of dirt on a heating or cooling coil can result in a decrease in efficiency of 21%.

Our Record High Was 92 Degrees Fahrenheit

OK, before you think that is a crazy number for the Phoenix Metro area we are talking about the record high for November 7th and that is really very warm for this time of year. I guess we should feel lucky that our high was only eighty-five degrees today.

It is like we need to have two different outfits to wear.  It was in the mid-forties when I got up this morning and the thermometer on my dashboard read eighty-nine degrees late this afternoon. That was a warming change of over forty degrees Fahrenheit in about eight or nine hours.  Welcome to the Valley of the Sun, even in the fall and winter.

With the daily high running to almost ninety degrees it may seem strange to be talking about getting your furnace or HVAC system tuned-up for the winter.  But, now is a great time to call Aaron’s Mechanical Service at 623-388-4436 and find a time that works best for your appointment.

In the next few days our daytime high will drop back into the seventies.  As we said in a previous blog these should well be the last eighty degree plus days we see this year.

So get your heating system up and running and keep your home toasty warm and you comfortable.

Have you heard? “Save 50% On Your Utility Bills!” is that possible?

You may have heard that air conditioners, heat pumps and furnaces have come a long way in the last 10 years.  The most energy efficient air conditioner of ten years ago is the bottom of the line now. In fact, a 1992 Federal law forced the manufacturers to stop making extremely inefficient units.

You’ll hear a lot of industry jargon while talking to contractors, like “SEER”, “HSPF” and “AFUE”.  These terms basically describe how efficiently the equipment operates, like miles per gallon for a car.  The higher the efficiency number, the lower your electric and gas bills are supposed to be.

Contractors and manufacturers will tell you that a new high efficiency system won’t really cost you much, if anything, because the investment is offset by up to 50% savings on monthly utility bills.  But does this really happen?

A few homeowners actually do save 25% to 50% on their utility bills after buying a new system.  But an unfortunate reality is that most people see only some savings.  And there are some people who haven't even saved a dime.   Only a small fraction of newly installed systems reduce utility bills by the amount they are capable of, or that maybe anticipated.

There is simply a lot more to efficient operation than the manufacturers’ ratings.  Efficiency numbers are measured in a controlled, ideal laboratory setting.  A lot can and does go wrong when a contractor takes the equipment out into the real world and installs it in your home. Most homeowners are simply not getting the efficiency they are paying for.

Arizona Places: Fort Apache Historic Park

For a great weekend trip filled with Native American discovery and exploration, visit the Fort Apache National Historic Park. Marvel at prehistoric ruins, ancient petroglyphs, an old military cemetery and an Apache Culture Center that features a fascinating rotation of authentic Apache cultural exhibits.

Nohwike’ Bágowa, the White Mountain Apache Cultural Center and Museum
Located in the Fort Apache Historic Park, Nohwike’ Bágowa (House of Our Footprints) is the place to experience Apache history and culture. Housed in a modern facility constructed to reflect a gowa, our traditional holy home, the cultural center and museum is committed to the celebration and perpetuation of the Apache heritage. Nohwike’ Bágowa hosts long term exhibits, temporary exhibitions, regularly scheduled Apache arts demonstrations, and other special events. The museum also houses the Tribe’s growing archival collection, including manuscripts, publications, and a large collection of historic photographs. The museum shop offers a wide selection of the best Apache basketry, beadwork, and other arts, in addition to books, music, and Fort Apache and Tribal mementos.

The Fort Apache Historic Park, including Kinishba Ruins, is open daily from 7:00am to sunset. Nohwike’ Bágowa is open Monday-Saturday 8am to 5pm during the summer, and Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm during the winter. Admission to the museum and park is $5.00 per adult, and $3.00 for seniors (64+) and students. Children under 7 are admitted free. Admission to the Park after-hours and on holidays is $5.00 per vehicle per day. Apache tour guides are available with advance reservation, and special accommodations and activities can be arranged for tour groups.

Opened in May 2004 with the support of a National Endowment for the Humanities Implementation Grant, this long-term exhibition explores Apache heritage from our Creation to our Lives Today. Visitors experience the multimedia Creation Story inside a traditionally constructed gowa (Apache home) in the center of the museum. Rare Apache objects — including loans from Arizona State Museum , the Heard Museum , and Sharlot Hall Museum — along with historic photographs and hands-on opportunities introduce our ancestors’ lives. Contemporary photographs, interactive computer and audio stations, and artwork provide understanding of what Apache people’s experiences are like in the twenty-first century.

Fort Apache Historic Park is located south of the Pinetop / Lakeside area – Highway 260.
Location: 127 Scout Street Fort Apache, AZ 85926 • 928-338-1230

The Air Smells Great After A Rain Shower

If you were in the west valley Monday evening you got to enjoy a nice evening shower.  The air smells so fresh after a nice shower, it is a great perk to the much needed moisture. While there was a bit of damage from the gusty winds it was a mild storm overall.

We still have those last few eighty degree plus days in the weather forecast. But you can see the trend to cooler and cooler nights.  That will eventually lead to real cold Arizona nights.

Do you have a date set-aside or a plan of when to call and have your heating system serviced.  It can save you both time and money to have that service done now.  You don’t want to wait till everyone else is calling and trying to get the best time to have their HVAC or furnace started and tuned-up for our Arizona winter.

Do you know that there is more than one reason that there is a change in “smell” of the air after a rain shower.  Here are just two of them.

The fresh air smell is caused by the acidity of rain. Because of chemicals in the atmosphere, rainwater tends to be somewhat acidic, especially in urban environments. When it comes in contact with organic debris or chemicals on the ground, it can cause some particularly aromatic reactions. It breaks apart soil and releases minerals trapped inside, and it reacts with chemicals, such as gasoline, giving them a stronger smell. These reactions generally produce more unpleasant smells than bacteria spores, which is why the after-the-rain smell isn't always a good one. Like the smell caused by the bacteria spores, the smell of chemical reactions is most noticeable when it rains following a dry spell. This is because once the chemicals on the ground have been diluted by one downpour, they don't have the same reaction with the rainwater.

One of the more pleasant rain smells, the one we often notice in the woods, is actually caused by bacteria! Actinomycetes, a type of filamentous bacteria, grow in soil when conditions are damp and warm. When the soil dries out, the bacteria produces spores in the soil. The wetness and force of rainfall kick these tiny spores up into the air where the moisture after a rain acts as an aerosol (just like an aerosol air freshener).

The moist air easily carries the spores to us so we breathe them in. These spores have a distinctive, earthy smell we often associate with rainfall. The bacteria is extremely common and can be found in areas all over the world, which accounts for the universality of this sweet "after-the-rain" smell. Since the bacteria thrives in moist soil but releases the spores once the soil dries out, the smell is most acute after a rain that follows a dry spell, although you'll notice it to some degree after most rainstorms.

Is This The Last of the 80 Degree Days?

Based on the ten day forecast from the National Weather Service we see five of the next ten days in the very low eighties. So is this “The Last of the 80 Degree Days” for this year? With the daytime highs in the seventies that means our nights will dip as low as the mid- forties during the overnight swing.

In some parts of the country the daytime highs will be our lows again.  For people in the Valley of the Sun a temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit feels like more than just sweater weather.  You know who you are.  Some folks start using their fireplaces and electric blankets when the thermometer gets near the sixty degree mark.

Is your home ready to respond to the “winter” weather we get here in the Phoenix Metro area?

November, December, January, February and into March we need to have a good reliable heat source to keep our homes comfortable.  It doesn’t matter how your HVAC system works or what it is called it needs to work on demand and do its job efficiently and safely.

Do you have a heat pump or furnace? Do you have in-floor heating? It really doesn’t matter how you heat your home Aaron’s Mechanical Service can get your system running at peak efficiency and most importantly, running safely.

When was the last time your heating system was serviced? When was the last time your heating system was inspected?

Our night-time temperatures will only keep getting cooler.  They will move from cool to cold and even down to freezing. On some of our coldest nights our early morning temperatures will drop below the freezing point and that is really cold here in the local area. May areas of the country get much colder with their temperatures dropping well below zero and in some cases as many as forty degrees below zero.

The Phoenix metro area is a very temperate climate but you need a reliable heat source to keep your home comfortable over our winter season. Are you and your home ready for winter?
