What Does An Arizona Cooling Trend Really Mean?

This morning the Television Weatherman said that we were in for a real cooling trend and in the next few days with thunderstorms we could be as low as 103 degrees Fahrenheit.  Now I admit that I would rather be 103 degrees than 117 degrees.  One hundred and three degrees is a drop of fourteen degrees.  But very humid and 103 is still too hot to be considered comfortable.

Most places in the country 103 degrees is considered excessive heat and very dangerous.  But in the Phoenix Metro area we may not even call 103 “hot.”

I don’t know about you but we aren’t comfortable until the temperature is into the low 80s.  Most people try to keep their homes in the high 79s or very low 80s.  Unless you have good efficient air conditioning a hot humid day with temperatures running over 100 degrees you simply won’t be comfortable.

At Aaron’s Mechanical Service our job is very simple, keeping you comfortable and doing that as efficiently (think dollars and cents) as possible.  You have to be able to afford your AC Unit and the electricity it uses.  Depending on the size of your home you don’t really want your electricity bill to be north of $500.00 dollars every month.  Yes, some folks are lower than that and some are much higher.  The square footage and the insulation factor are part of that cost.  But those factors (square footage and insulation) are fixed.  Only a new more efficient AC unit can reduce your electricity costs at any given temperature setting.

By now you have heard the term SEER.  That is a way to compare air conditioners and how well they cool versus the electricity they use.  In general the higher the SEER rating the less you should spend on electricity.  But, as the SEER rating raises so does the cost of that new unit.

Take time to talk over your AC needs with the professionals at Aaron’s Mechanical Service.  Planning a purchase is much better than doing it in a panic because your old air conditioner has breathed it’s last.

Wow, I swear the Television forecaster just said were expecting a very warm day with highs in the 107 to 109 range.  I think I’ll make some lemonade.

If you need help with your air conditioning requirements, either repair or replacement please give Aaron’s Mechanical Service a call at 623-388-4436.  Fast and Fair AC Repair
