July In Phoenix In The High Eighties?

This past weekend was sure a very strange one.  I know, it is quite common to have thunderstorms and wind damage during our July monsoon season.  And we sure had plenty of that type of typical Phoenix Metro area weather. But Sunday was even a stranger story.  Of course different parts of the valley of the sun have different high temperatures.  July 21st had highs from the mid-eighties to the very low nineties.  That is a very rare summer day for us.  Of course with the humidity it felt like it was much warmer.

So how well did your air conditioner do over the weekend?  Were you comfortable?  How often was your ac unit running and for how long at a time?  Of course you won’t know till next month how your power bill was affected.  You would think that the cooler temperatures would mean a lower bill. It really depends on how hard your AC had to work to maintain your home and keep you comfortable. What feels comfortable when the air is dry and the humidity is low is one thing.  Being cool and feeling comfortable when it is hot and muggy is quite another thing.
