Do Slick TV Ads Really Cost You Money?

Today, more than ever, the Air Conditioning repair and replacement business is more competitive than ever before.  You probably have noticed the television, newspaper, radio, billboards, flyers, direct mail coupons and door hangers are more in use than ever.  Each one of those cost these companies lots of money.

For a company to stay profitable they must take in more money than they spend.  If they have very large advertising budgets that means that every service call must carry a portion of that same advertising budget.  Or they must charge more for parts or the replacement AC units.

Did you know that a television ad that is played during a popular viewing time can run thousands and thousands of dollars.  If that ad brings in a100 (they wish) new customers it means that each service call carries a $100 dollar overhead before they even start their truck or pay the service technician. You know who ends up paying for that advertising overhead?  Yep, you!

It pays to do a bit of shopping to see who will do the best job and at the fairest price.  Keep in mind there can be many parts to your final bill.  It isn’t as simple as what the parts cost.  The last thing you want to happen is to spend money to have your air conditioner “fixed” only to have it fail again in just a few days.  You shouldn’t have to wait twice or three times in this Arizona summer heat to have your air conditioning properly restored.

Now it is true that for a company to stay in business they must attract new customers.  They also must retain many of their previous customers as well.  A satisfied customer will tend to be a return customer as well.

You are aware that word-of-mouth advertising is very effective as well.  A family member or friend may tell you of a company that they used that gave them a quality product and service and because you trust that person’s opinion you are likely to use that company too.  That is the most effective and more importantly the most cost effective method of bringing in new customers.

It is simple, doing a good job and at a fair price is the best advertising a company can do.  It brings in new customers and means your old customers will return as well.

We have been in the valley since 1994 and Aaron’s Mechanical Service uses our past customers as a great advertising base.  That means we aren’t forced to raise our prices to cover expensive television advertising campaigns.
