Thursday November 7th And Phoenix Will See 86 Degrees – Still Need AC

OK, the Seventh November 2014 and the Phoenix Metro Area will see Eighty-six degrees Fahrenheit, and don’t forget that is in the shade. Yes, in full sun it feels even hotter. If you think Thursday is hot Saturday may bring a trip back into the nineties again.

Of course that is why your house heats up during the afternoon sun. Yes, that is why the Valley of the Sun is still running their Air Conditioners, while many parts of the rest of the United States are already running their furnaces and shoveling snow.

A friend sent a Facebook photo of Interstate travel back east and it was closed due to a heavy snow storm.

I guess the real good news is that we never have to shovel sunshine here in the greater Phoenix Metro Area. Yes, I know every once in a great while we do get a dusting of snow here on the desert floor and it lasts about an hour at the most. Normally our snow is flakes you can see in the air or touching the windshield, but then it melts instantly as the surfaces are well above freezing temperatures.

The National Weather Service forecasts that for the next eight days we are running mid to high eighties it not low nineties here in the Valley of the Sun. So unless you want very uncomfortable afternoons you will still need your AC running.

I know starting the day in a sweater and then needing AC on in the afternoon may seem a bit strange, but that is just fall weather in the Arizona deserts.

The rest of the country makes fun of us for wearing sweaters and jackets while they may be in short sleeves yet. Our revenge is coming when we are out barbecuing and they are trying to find out which mound of snow is their car.

If the choice is feeling cold at fifty degrees or shoveling snow and scraping away the ice, you can guess which one I am voting for. Oh, wait the elections are over so I don’t need to do any voting jokes for two more years.
