By now you have probably seen the local weather forecasts for this coming weekend here in the phoenix metro area.  Daytime highs will be between 118 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit.  The scary thing is that isn’t even a record high here in the Valley of the Sun.

DANGEROUSLY HOT TEMPERATURES EXPECTED FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

AFFECTED AREA... LOWER DESERTS OF ARIZONA AND SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA... AS WELL AS HIGHER ELEVATIONS EAST OF PHOENIX...  AND JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK.

TEMPERATURE... AFTERNOON HIGHS BETWEEN 115 - 121 ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE LOWER DESERTS

IMPACTS... EXCEEDINGLY HIGH TEMPERATURES CAN CAUSE HEAT RELATED ILLNESS INCLUDING DEATH... MORE EASILY THAN AN AVERAGE SUMMER DAY. THOSE WORKING OR PLAYING OUTDOORS... AND THOSE WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING ARE MOST VULNERABLE.

Remember to stay safe and as cool as possible this weekend.  We will be under this high pressure area for the next 7 to 10 days.

Call your friends and family to make sure they are safe and comfortable.  Also look out for your neighbors as well.

Only in Arizona do Farmers have to feed their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.
