Comfort and the Cold of December in Arizona

Cold and wet are terms that you don’t usually associate with the Arizona desert.  But for the last few days that has been the case.  How did your heating system do?

The local forecast by the Weather Channel for the next ten days shows the overnight temperatures running in the mid thirties to the low forties.  Do you want to stay warm and keep your heating bills as low as possible?

Have you had your heating system checked or serviced?  Would it benefit from a tune-up?  Getting Aaron’s Mechanical Service to stop by and check your system is a simple as making a phone call.

Here are some heating safety tips to consider.

Safety Tip: It's highly recommended that you invest in a carbon monoxide alarm for the inside of your home. This will alert you if potentially dangerous carbon monoxide gas levels get too high in your living space.

Safety Tip: Keep the area around the furnace clean and unobstructed for safety and accessibility.

Safety Tip: Have the "high limit" on your furnace checked to prevent overheating.

Safety Tip:  Have your flue products checked for carbon monoxide levels.

Safety Tip: Space heaters should be of good quality, solid construction and design, and should be evaluated by a nationally recognized laboratory, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL).

Safety Tip: Keep a glass or metal screen in front of any fireplace opening, to prevent embers or sparks from jumping out, unwanted material from going in, and help prevent the possibility of burns to occupants.
