January in Metro Phoenix and Rain Means Winter

A nice gentle rain rolled into the Valley of the Sun this weekend and has stayed around for early Monday too. Winter in Phoenix is mostly marked by a bit of rain and a drop of temperature into the mid-sixties.

So here we are with normal winter weather in Metro Phoenix. Is your home comfortable, warm and cozy?  If not, we at Aaron’s Mechanical Services can fix that.  We can get a technician to your home as quickly as possible.

Have you had your heating system checked this year? Well when was the last time your furnace was tested and tuned up?

Many homes in the Valley of the Sun use a natural gas fired furnace. When running properly they are both safe and efficient.  That is when they are running right.  If not, you could be wasting money every time your furnace runs.

Another aspect to consider is that a natural gas fired furnace produces carbon monoxide which is a deadly by product of the combustion. When your furnace is maintained and tuned up that gas normally goes up your chimney and out of your house.

Did You Know?

Quick CO Facts...

Hundreds of Americans die every year from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.

Carbon monoxide in the home can come from many sources. (anything that burns a fuel)

If you experience CO poisoning symptoms, get fresh air immediately and go to an emergency room.

Maintenance and prevention is the key to protecting you and your family.

Make sure your CO alarm meets the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or International Approval Service (IAS).

Carbon monoxide is produced whenever a fuel such as gas, oil, kerosene, wood or charcoal is burned. The amount of CO produced depends mainly on the quality or efficiency of combustion. A properly functioning burner, whether natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), has efficient combustion and produces little CO. However, an out-of-adjustment burner can produce life-threatening amounts of CO without any visible warning signs.
