Hard To Talk Heating While Phoenix Is Breaking High Record Temperatures

Even to me it seems strange to talk about heating system when the Valley of the Sun has recently tied one and broke another weather record and on the same day even. Can you imagine two highs temperature records on the same day, seems kind of strange.

The National Weather Service stated that in the Phoenix Metro Area (Think Sky Harbor International Airport) on Thanksgiving Day November 27th, 2014 we tied the record high temperature for Thanksgiving Day (set on Thursday November 23th, 1950) at eighty-seven degrees Fahrenheit. But for the actual November date of the 27th we broke the old record of 86 set on November 27th in 1950.

Since Thanksgiving is one of the few holidays that the day of the week is set (Thursday) but the celebration date moves by calendar year you can have two records for either the high or low temperature ever year. So Thanks giving 2014 turns out to be a banner year for local highs.

It seems only in Phoenix can we have days that start cold enough for heating and end with daytime highs that qualify for air conditioning relief here and certainly in every other state as well. In many areas of the valley saw lows on November 27th in the upper thirties and we finished the day about fifty degrees higher, Wow!

Have you had your heating system tune-up this year? Is your home ready for the cold nights and days that lay ahead?

It seems we could have a weather system move in from the California coast in the next few days and we will end up cold and damp. You will appreciate your heat then for sure. Is your furnace or HVAC system ready?  Are you sure?

When you are used to a dry heat damp cold days chill you right to the bone! At least that is how they affect me.

Did You Know?

The average low temperature for the Phoenix Metro area in December is the mid to low forties.

So are you ready for forty-two to forty-five degrees in the coming nights? Is your furnace ready to warm up your house? Taking a shower early in the mornings is chilly (OK, cold) when the temperature is low and your furnace won’t run.

Mix in some days that will rainy and cooler and a furnace, HVAC system or fireplace will feel real nice and welcome.
