With three
one-hundred year storms in six weeks, does it seem like we should stop calling
them 100 year storms?
We sure hope that
your property survived without storm damage and your family wasn’t part of the
100,000 (yes, that is one-hundred-thousand) APS and SRP customers that were
without power following Saturday afternoon’s storm. It almost seemed like a couple of storms
passed through during the afternoon. Then very early Sunday morning more
lightning and thunder shook us awake again. I would mention how much rain we
got but, my rain gauge was attached to the fence section that blew down.
We have mentioned
before that following major storms, wind driven debris, water and power service
interruptions it is a very good idea to have your air conditioner, HVAC or
cooling system inspected and repaired before continued running can lead to
further damage. An AC Unit that is used while it isn’t running correctly can
lead to high than normal power bills.
We help make your
home comfortable by bringing you Quality Work, Fair Prices and perhaps most
important as quickly as possible. That
is why we are known for AC Repair – Fast and Fair!
Did You Know?
Sky Harbor
International Airport set another rainfall record on Saturday September 27th,
2014
Sky Harbor had to
evacuate the Control Tower for an hour due to high winds.
No take-offs or
landings (called a ground stop) were allowed from 2:30pm till just after 3:30pm
The Phoenix Fire
department received 400 weather related calls from noon to 4:30
Nearly two miles
of 59th Avenue remain closed from storm damage as of Monday morning.
One mile of Greenway Road is closed in the same area. Homes, businesses and
schools are affected.
Both Interstate
10 and 17 had closures during the storm.
Some folks who
had suffered damage from the first two major storms suffered more damage from
the third one-hundred year storm.
Does this mean
that we won’t have any more one-hundred year storms for the next two hundred
years because we have used up our quota?
