Is Your A/C System Ready For The Next Round Of Storms!

Yes, the days are getting cooler with every passing twenty-four hour period.  But, the highs are still in the high nineties and even the low one-hundreds. That is too warm (i.e. read hot) to be comfortable and even safe for people with a compromised medical condition.  You still need an efficient air conditioning system.

Did your air conditioner suffer any damage from the last two storms?  I sure hope not. But if they did we are here to help.  Just give Aaron’s Mechanical Services a call at 623-388-4436 and we are ready to come and help with a great solution.

Now, the National Weather Service is warning that the powerful category 3 hurricane, Odile, that is battering Mexico’s Baja coast, is heading north and will bring much rain and possible flooding to the Phoenix Metro Area, (perhaps in the entire state of Arizona) starting as early as late Tuesday night and running until Wednesday or even into Thursday and into Friday.

After reaching Category 4 strength Sunday, Odile was downgraded to Category 3. But it was still a major storm that threatened to bring high winds, deadly surf and heavy rains to Baja and parts of the mainland, and forecasters said it could strengthen again as it approached land.

Yes, we need the moisture, but not so much all at one time.

Make sure you stay up-to-date with the local news and weather forecasts so your family can remain safe and protected. Storms don’t know they are supposed to do and what time frame the weather men are saying on television.

If you are traveling in the next few days pay special attention to your schedule to make sure flight cancellations and road closures won’t be changing your plans.

If your Air Conditioner is on your roof it is generally safe from damage from flooding but wind and branches can wreak havoc on it.

If your AC is a ground mounted unit make sure to shut off the power to it, if your yard begins to flood.  You would do that at your electrical panel where your breakers are located.  If your panel is inside that is ok, but, with older homes, if it is located on the outside, NEVER touch or open during a rainstorm.

No, you can’t turn off the electrical power to your air conditioner by turning your thermostat from “Cool” to “Off”.
