We all want to make our purchases at a fair price. We sure agree on that idea. The right price or the fair price is almost never the lowest price. When faced with replacing an Air Conditioner many people start by picking up the phone and begin to call around to all the dealers they can find.
If all they want to know is what is the lowest price you can replace my AC unit that can lead to nothing but bad deals.
To get the correct AC unit a technician should come to your location and first evaluate your current AC unit. They need to make sure that you get an HVAC unit that is the correct size for your home. Everything from the number and size of windows, type of construction, insulation level, room sizes and overall square feet will go into sizing your new ac unit correctly.
Then based on the findings you can start to talk about the options for your home. If you plan on living there as a primary residence do you want to purchase the best unit for your home or the worst unit for your home?
If you base the purchase on the cheapest price, do you think you will end up with a unit that will do the best job and last the longest? Do your air ducts leak? Now would be a great time to correct that. A unit that is rated higher (SEER Number) may cost a bit more to buy but will operate at a lower cost overall.
The right unit could last up to 15 or more years. The wrong units may have to be replaced three times over the same 15 years. One correct purchase will be far less expensive than those three “Cheap” units. What is the warranty like on the least expensive units.
A contractor who needs a truck to do his job can’t call a car dealership and ask them for the cheapest vehicle on the lot. For the same reason you can’t just call for the lowest priced Air Conditioner.

There are definitely no shortcuts for appliance-buying, especially with air conditioning units. Cheaper deals will cost you more as time goes by, which isn't the best deal around. Most of the time, you need to bring out more money to achieve quality.

I totally agree with your point here. When buying appliances, like an A/C unit, some buyers often consider the price first before anything else. This is not a smart way of buying an appliance. You have to know what type of A/C unit really fits your home and family needs. Then, always go for a quality one first before asking for the price. Don’t be deceived by low prices being offered. Be cautious and meticulous to take home the right appliance for you. ->Oma Gammel
