We have all heard the old saying, “If You Don’t Like The Weather…Wait A Few Minutes… It Will Change.” In the Phoenix Metro area that usually means that it will get hotter.
Last week based on the National Weather Service forecast I wrote that we had probably seen the last eighty degree day and the temperature would drop into the seventies. Well the weather did change and true to the Valley of the Sun it got hotter.
This week it is forecast to reach ninety degrees plus today and may run eighty plus all week. The weekend may bring our fall temperatures back into the seventies.
As last week wrapped up NASCAR race teams and their races came to the valley and with most of the rest of the country running into the forties and fifties they watched television showing Phoenix having the mid-eighties for our highs and it sure does help our winter tourist visitors.
Here in the Phoenix Metro area we often take for granted how nice our winter weather really is. That doesn’t mean we don’t feel the cold of our overnight desert climate. We want our homes to remain comfortable as our night time temperatures drop into the low thirties. To stay warm we rely on our heat pumps, HVAC systems or gas furnaces. Is your heating system ready to keep you warm and to do that safely?

Yes, it may seem odd to be thinking “heating” on a day like today. But it is the best time to get ready.
Simple maintenance steps include checking your furnace filter monthly during heating season and cleaning or changing it as needed, dusting heat registers and keeping furniture away from them, as well as scheduling an annual furnace checkup.
